3-2-1 - Liftoff!

Off in the distance, on the beach, I see two bald eagles. One an adult, the other, a juvenile. They were hundreds of feet away and I was wearing a literal fluorescent orange jacket so there was no "hiding", especially when the entire surroundings were shades of gray. Yet... I tried. I walked a few steps at a time, stopped, squatted down and photographed them. and I repeated this for what seemed like 45 minutes? Could have been 10 minutes, could have been 2 hours, that's the beauty of getting lost in the things you love. Regardless, I carefully, quietly approached them. I got WAY closer than I imagined I would. I sat and watched them do their eagle thing for a long time! Finally, this juvenile flew off to a different part of the beach, but I was able to capture this perfect take off position and I loved getting to watch something from the ground that is usually only seen from a nest or tree.
